You probably know that there are a number of things you should do if you’re interested in keeping your child’s teeth healthy and strong. You may know also know that brushing and flossing your little one’s teeth is important. The truth is, if you don’t care for their teeth well, your child could face a number of problems, including tooth decay.

Some of the most important things you can do are brushing and flossing your little one’s teeth consistently. You should brush your little one’s teeth for two minutes at a time and start to floss their teeth once they begin to touch. Children with consistent brushing habits from an early age generally have fewer cavities and enjoy a healthier smile.

Some children are more prone to tooth decay than others. For example, children who eat prepackaged snacks, dinners to go, and processed foods loaded with carbohydrates and sugars tend to be more vulnerable to cavities than other children. If you worry about your child’s teeth, you could consider switching from processed foods to whole foods and schedule an appointment with our dentist, Dr Neal Smith.
